SCIENCE WEEK - This years topic has been all about 'change'. We have been working as a team with Nightingale Class to encourage more birds into the school grounds. We firstly went into Nightingale class and taught them all we knew about a bird's life cycle and taught them some interesting facts about birds.
SCIENCE WEEK - We then needed to investigate which birds visited our school grounds and we needed to produce a map of their flight paths.
SCIENCE WEEK - We wanted to investigate if the position of a bird feeder would affect how much food was eaten - so we needed to get designing!
SCIENCE WEEK - Then came the fun part - making the bird feeders!
SCIENCE WEEK - Now we needed decide which positions we were going to hang them in - we wanted a fair test so we made 3 identical bird feeders and the only variable we changed was their position.
SCIENCE - Results! Throughout the week we took photographs each day to monitor the food eaten. Why not ask the children to find out which bird feeders attracted most birds?
