This term in Science we are learning about plants.
We have completed an experiment to see which shape roots would be the most absorbent. We used cotton wool to replicate the roots of a plant and we made a long skinny root, a round flat root and a root with lots of pieces.
Our experiment didn't exactly go to plan as we were supposed to just dip the cotton wool into the water. Unfortunately some of the round, flat cotton wool got dropped in the water and absorbed extra liquid.
Why don't you have a go at home to retest our experiment and see what happens next time.
You will need:
- cotton wool
Maybe you could use different shaped roots and see what happens?
